Get answers to you legal questions at the Montgomery County Bar Counsel and Advice Clinic.  The Legal Counsel and Advice Clinic will be held at the Montgomery Community Action Agency, 1100 Adams Avenue, Montgomery, AL.  The clinic will open at 3:00 pm. Please be present and signed in by 4:30 pm to be seen. It is open to low-income citizens of Montgomery and you do not need an appointment. Local lawyers will provide free legal advice to those who cannot afford legal assistance. *Unable to assist with criminal matters.*

Do you have questions about Family Law, Housing, Consumer Debt, Landlord/Tenant or Probate? If you can’t afford to hire an attorney and want to know what options are available to you, you can speak to an attorney. No appointment needed – No advice on criminal matters – Lawyers volunteering at the clinic provide brief legal advice (they do not continue to represent you) – Bring any important paperwork with you – Placed with a lawyer by subject so be prepared to wait to speak with the correct lawyer.

The Alabama State Bar Volunteer Lawyers Program provides volunteer-based, client-focused legal services to primarily low-income residents of Alabama who would not otherwise receive legal assistance. Volunteers provide legal assistance through both direct representation and through a variety of legal advice and legal assistance clinics. The legal advice clinics offer free, limited legal advice and referral to Alabama residents with legal issues who might otherwise have no access to the legal system. Attorney volunteers meet with individuals to analyze problems, identify community resources and offer legal advice on a variety of topics.
